Giuseppe Cardinal Bruno (born June 30, 1875 in Sezzadio , Province of Alessandria , Italy , † November 10, 1954 in Rome ) was an Italian cardinal curia of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Giuseppe Bruno studied Catholic theology , law and canon law and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Acqui on April 10, 1898 .

1924 Giuseppe Bruno was from Pope Pius XI. appointed secretary of the Pontifical Commission for the Interpretation of Legal Texts , in 1930 he moved to the Council Congregation as secretary .

On February 18, 1946, Pius XII took him . as a cardinal deacon with the title deaconry Sant'Eustachio in the college of cardinals . In 1949 the pontiff appointed Cardinal Bruno Prefect of the Council Congregation, a position he held until 1954. On March 20, 1954, the Pope gave him the office of Prefect of the Apostolic Signature and also of the Prefect of the Pontifical Commission for the Interpretation of Legal Texts. Giuseppe Bruno held both offices until his death.
