Giuseppe Maria Castellani

Giuseppe Maria Castellani OESA (baptismal name Pietro Raffaele Castellani ; born February 18, 1798 in Rome , † December 10, 1854 ibid) was an Italian curia bishop .

Life

Pietro Raffaele Castellani entered the Augustinian order and took the religious name Giuseppe Maria . He was ordained as a religious priest of the Augustinians on September 23, 1820. On March 12, 1831, he obtained the master's degree in theology. After that he was Regens and later prior of the convent of Sant'Agostino in Rome and pastor of this church.

Pope Gregory XVI appointed him on April 12, 1839 sacristan of His Holiness and on July 8 of the same year titular bishop of Porphyreon . He received his episcopal ordination on July 14, 1839, Cardinal Costantino Patrizi Naro ; Co- consecrators were Nicola Mattei Baldini , Archbishop of Camerino , and Archbishop Ludovico Tevoli .

Giuseppe Maria Castellani died at the age of 57 after 15 years as a bishop.
