Giuseppe Ugolini (Cardinal)
Giuseppe Ugolini (born January 6, 1783 in Macerata , Papal States , † December 19, 1867 in Rome ) was a cardinal of the Catholic Church and a member of the Roman Curia .
Life
He studied law in Rome and was ordained deacon , but was never ordained a priest. In 1815 he was Apostolic Delegate in Frosinone , from 1830 to 1837 Presidente delle Armi and finally Dean of the Apostolic Chamber .
In the consistory of February 12, 1838 Pope Gregory XVI appointed him cardinal deacon . He received the cardinal's hat and the title deaconry of San Giorgio in Velabro on February 15 of the same year. Later Giuseppe Ugolini (Cardinal) was Apostolic Legate in Ferrara . On September 13, 1838 he moved to the titular diaconia Santa Maria in Via Lata .
Ugolini took part in the conclave of 1846, in which Pope Pius IX. was chosen. From 1858 to 1867 he was a cardinal protodeacon .
