Giustino Sanchini (born November 18, 1860 in Cerreto di Saludecio , Province of Rimini , Italy ; † February 23, 1937 in Fano , Province of Pesaro and Urbino , Italy) was Bishop of Fano .

Life

Giustino Sanchini studied in Rimini and Rome. In 1884 he was ordained a priest . After many years as a professor of canon law and moral theology, he became vicar general of the Diocese of Rimini . On July 12, 1909, Pope Pius X appointed him Bishop of Città di Castello . However, Sanchini did not accept the office and initially remained vicar general in Rimini.

Pope Benedict XV finally appointed him on June 5, 1916 Bishop of Fano. He was ordained episcopate on October 14th of the same year by Vincenzo Scozzoli , Bishop of Rimini. Co- consecrators were Luigi Ferri , Bishop of Montalto , and Fabio Berdini , Bishop of Cesena . Sanchini set up new parishes and placed his priests in the service of the local orphanage. In 1927 he became Apostolic Administrator of Fossombrone , which he remained until 1931. In 1928 Pope Pius XI awarded him . the title of Papal Assistant to the Throne . Giustino Sanchini died in 1937 at the age of 76 and was buried in the Church of San Cristoforo , the construction of which he himself initiated.
