The Glade Bay is a triangular and km at its entrance 50 wide bay of the Amundsen Sea before Bakutis Coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd lands . It is bounded by the northern part of Wright Island , by the front of the Getz Ice Shelf and the northwest side of the Murray Foreland on the Martin Peninsula .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them using the United States Navy's own measurements and aerial photographs from 1959 to 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them after Gerald Leon Glade (* 1931), helicopter pilot on the USS Atka during the first operation Deep Freeze from 1956 to 1957 and Deputy Commander of the US Navy Support Units in Antarctica from 1975 to 1976.
