Glasbach crossed by the glass stream and is a district of the rural community city Schwarzatal in Saalfeld-Rudolstadt in Thuringia .

Glasbach is also a street village about 2.5 kilometers in the lower Schwarzatal at about 380 meters above sea level. The street of the village and the railway line as well as the houses fill the narrow valley.
history
Glasbach was first mentioned in a document in 1145. Until 1918 the place belonged to the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .
