Gleb Sakharov ( Uzbek Gleb Saxarov ; born June 10, 1988 in Tashkent ) is a French - Uzbek tennis player .

Career

Gleb Sakharov started his career with Uzbekistan before deciding to play for France in 2009. Sakharov mainly plays tournaments on the ITF Future Tour and the ATP Challenger Tour . On the Future Tour he has already won ten singles and nine doubles. On the Challenger Tour he achieved his best result in Saint-Brieuc when he made it to the semi-finals, which he lost to Tobias Kamke .

Sakharov came to Gstaad for his premiere on the ATP World Tour in 2017 . He survived the qualification and started in the main field of the individual. There he met the Swiss wildcard holder Antoine Bellier , whom he defeated in two sets. In the second round he was eliminated from number 2 seeded Roberto Bautista Agut . With a 168th place in October 2017, he achieved his best position in the world rankings to date .
