Gledson (born September 4, 1979 in Felipe Guerra ; actually Gledson da Silva Menezes ) is a former Brazilian soccer player .
Career
Only at the age of 16 did the central defender Gledson join a football club with the Brazilian second division club ABC Natal , in the meantime switched to the Corinthians São Paulo first division club for six months and came to Turabão FC via AD Vitória.
From Turabão from Gledson moved to Germany in 2001 and played 13 regional league games for Cologne Fortuna in the 2001/02 season , with whom he was relegated bottom of the table and then moved to the second division club LR Ahlen . For Ahlen Gledson completed no use in the 2002/03 season due to a broken foot and was loaned for the 2003/04 season to the second division competitor VfL Osnabrück , where he completed 27 games and relegated again at the end of the season. In the following season 2004/05 he completed 28 missions for LR Ahlen.
For the 2005/06 season Gledson moved to the first division relegated FC Hansa Rostock , where he developed into one of the best defensive players in the second division within two years under coach Frank Pagelsdorf , who had already worked with Gledson in Osnabrück, and ultimately played a major role in the promotion Rostocks had made it to the first division in the 2006/07 season . Gledson then struck out a contract extension in Rostock and switched to the reigning German champions VfB Stuttgart for the 2007/08 season . After playing in the League Cup and being sent off in the DFB Cup , he was not used in the Bundesliga, whereupon his contract, which was actually limited to three years in Stuttgart, was terminated and he moved back to Rostock on January 3, 2008. With Rostock he then went back to the 2nd Bundesliga. After Rostock had only just been able to avoid relegation to the third division in the 2008/09 second division season , a change of club was suggested to him despite his ongoing contract.
Then Gledson moved within the second division to FSV Frankfurt . Under coach Tomas Oral, the Bornheimers were also only able to stay in the league shortly before the end of the season, and in the 2009/10 season , the FSV was only in the last three places in the table for a long time despite a personnel change in the squad. Tomas Oral was replaced by Hans-Jürgen Boysen in October 2009 , Gledson was a permanent member of the two trainers and, together with Alexander Klitzpera, formed the central defense of the FSV, who secured 15th place at the end of the round and thus remained in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the summer of 2010, numerous FSV players changed clubs again, and Klitzpera's contract was not extended, but with Björn Schlicke (MSV Duisburg) and Marc Heitmeier (Offenbacher Kickers), two new members of the central defense team were committed. The duo was also set at the beginning of the season at Boysen, Gledson suddenly only second choice. After his first brief appearance in the opening game, the Brazilian also suffered from adductor problems for a long time and was only able to play for the FSV again on matchday 12 when he stood in for the injured captain Björn Schlicke against Union Berlin. Since then he has been a regular in the central defense of the Bornheimers, who secured relegation early in the second division season 2010/11 . In his 65th league game for FSV, at the away game in Aue on March 4, 2012, the central defender with a strong header scored his first second division goal for the black and blue team. His contract was automatically extended by another year due to the number of his assignments.
