Glenn Ochal

Glenn Ochal (born March 1, 1986 in Philadelphia ) is an American rower .

Ochal started rowing in 2001. In 2003 he took part in a double scull at the Junior World Championships , in 2005 and 2007 in a double scull at the U23 World Championships , but never reached the A final. In 2009 he rowed in the Rowing World Cup and reached the A-final once in both double sculls and double sculls, and at the 2009 World Championships he finished twelfth with the double sculls. In 2010, Ochal competed internationally with Warren Anderson in double sculls, at the World Championships the two finished seventh. In 2011 Ochal started in the World Cup with William Miller in double sculls, at the 2011 World Championships Samuel Stitt , Miller, Anderson and Ochal competed in double sculls and finished eighth.

In 2012 Ochal switched from skull to oar rowing . At the 2012 Olympic Games , the four-man without a helmsman with Ochal, Henrik Rummel , Charlie Cole and Scott Gault won the bronze medal behind the British and Australians. After a World Cup victory with the eighth in 2013, Ochal and Charlie Cole reached the finals at the 2014 World Championships in a two-man without a helmsman and finished sixth. A year later, Ochal achieved seventh place with the four-man without a helmsman at the 2015 World Championships . At the 2016 Olympics , Ochal sat in the US eighth and finished fourth in the Olympic final.
