Gloria is a band that consists of Klaas Heufer-Umlauf and Mark Tavassol , the former guitarist and bassist of the band Wir sind Helden .

history

In 2006 Klaas Heufer-Umlauf and Mark Tavassol met in his hometown Hamburg . About a year later, they both started making music and working on song ideas. In 2011 they made the decision to produce an album, which will take place in spring and summer 2013 under the direction of Mark Tavassol and with the musicians Tim Schierenbeck (drums, percussion, vocals), Marcus Schneider (guitar, vocals), Ruben Seevers (bass, Vocals) and Deniz Erarslan (guitar). The project was named Gloria , named after the Café Gloria, which according to its own information is located between Tavassol's apartment and his recording studio in Hamburg. The song Warten was released as a debut single in 2013 , followed by the title Eigenes Berlin as the second single . The stage premiere was at the Reeperbahn Festival on September 26, 2013 in Hamburg. On September 27, 2013, the debut album Gloria was released on Grönland Records .

Klaas Heufer-Umlauf was known as a television presenter even before the band was founded , Mark Tavassol as the bassist of the band Wir sind Helden .

At the Bundesvision Song Contest 2015 on August 29, 2015 Gloria performed with the song Geister , with which they reached 9th place.

The group studio band has been part of Heufer-Umlauf's late night show Late Night Berlin since March 2018 . Mark Tavassol leads the band there.
