action

Reviews

Rotten Tomatoes described the film as a "fun romp".

Christopher Null compared the film on filmcritic.com with the music film Hairspray by John Waters , whose qualities, however, he does not show ("doesn't bear nearly the pleasures of a Waters' movie"). It is "flat" and "stupid" ("plain dull"), "always predictable" ("invariably predictable") and "lifeless". Null praised the portrayals of the “charming” Patricia Childress as well as that of Max Perlich.

TV direkt 5/2007 criticized that the film was “a little bit stiff”.

background

The film is a remake of the music film Shake, Rattle & Rock! from 1956.
