Nora Dunn

Nora Dunn (born April 29, 1952 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Dunn comes from an Irish-American family . She completed an art degree in Chicago, studied at the Jean Sheldon Acting Workshop in San Francisco and was a member of The Second City group.

Dunn appeared on the comedy show Saturday Night Live from 1985 to 1990 . She is one of five cast members who survived the 1986 layoffs due to the show's poor ratings; the others include Jon Lovitz and Dennis Miller .

Dunn played her first film role opposite Harrison Ford , Sigourney Weaver and Melanie Griffith in the 1988 comedy The Guns of Women . From 1996 to 1999 she played the role of Dr. in the television series The Nanny. Reynolds . In the comedy Max Keeble's great plan (2001) she played the role of Lily Keeble . In the comedy Laws of Attraction (2004), in which Pierce Brosnan and Julianne Moore play lawyers, she was seen in the role of the judge Abramovitz .

Dunn wrote a script that she wants to film as a director and published the book Nobody's Rib .

Dunn was married twice, most recently to Ray Hutcherson from 1987 to 1995 . Her brother Kevin Dunn is also an actor.
