LOL (full title: LOL - Laughing Out Loud ) is an American feature film from 2012 and a remake of the French comedy of the same name , which premiered on February 4, 2009 in France .
The main roles are played by Miley Cyrus , Demi Moore , Ashley Greene and Adam Sevani . Lisa Azuelos directed and wrote the script for the film with Karim Ainouz. The film premiered in India on February 10, 2012 . On May 4, 2012, the film opened in a few cinemas in the United States and on May 31, 2012 in Germany .

After breaking up with her boyfriend, 16-year-old Lola, known as Lol, falls in love with her best friend, Kyle. She had her first sexual experience and started using drugs . Meanwhile, she repeatedly comes into conflict with her 40-year-old mother Anne. Now, of all times, the trip to Paris is imminent, which will certainly not only include sights, and Anne doesn't know how to decide. When she reads Lola's diary after the trip, she witnesses parties, alcohol and Lola's first sexual experiences.

Filming began on July 20, 2011 in Detroit in the US state of Michigan and ended on 8 September of that year in Paris . The film contains a scene in which Cyrus smokes marijuana . However, this was removed after a video of her smoking a psychotropic substance circulated on the Internet in December 2011 . The trailer for the film was released on January 9, 2012.

"The disappointing comedy cannot maintain the cheerful lightness of the original and, with the subject of modern communication media, it already seems outdated."
"If you were to reel off the French and American versions of 'LOL' in parallel, the faces in the film would be different, but otherwise you would only notice small differences between the original and the remake."
