The Gmina Chojnów is a rural municipality ( gmina wiejska ) in the powiat Legnicki in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship , Poland . Its administrative seat is in the city of Chojnów ( German Haynau ), which, however, does not belong to the rural community.

geography

The Gmina is located in the southwestern part of the Silesian Plain on the rivers Czarna Woda ( Black Water ) and Skora ( Rapid Deichsa ). It has an area of ​​231.21 km². 68% of the municipal area is used for agriculture, 20% is covered with forest.

history

From 1988 to 1991 Chojnów was an urban and rural municipality ( gmina miejsko-wiejska ).

From 1975 to 1998 the municipality was part of the Legnica Voivodeship .
