The Gmina Opatowiec is an urban-and-rural municipality in the Kazimierski powiat of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name , with 329 inhabitants the smallest city in the country (2019).

On January 1, 2019, Opatowiec was reassigned to the city and the municipality received its current status.
