The Goldbach is a 13 km long stream in the Upper Bavarian Mangfall Valley , which flows into the Mangfall from the right near Bad Aibling in the Rosenheim district in Bavaria . He is also called Mühlbach on maps .

course

The Goldbach begins on the rise in the forest south of the parish village of Vagen in the Feldkirchen-Westerham parish as a ditch with the same contour line in a short westward course, then enters the village to the north from the forest and turns into an approximately eastern course, which it maintains to the mouth. From now on it runs in the wide right valley floodplain of the Mangfall valley.

Then he enters the district of Markt Bruckmühl and passes through the smaller towns of Mittenkirchen , Wiechs , Thalham , Waith , Winden and Ried one after the other . At the entrance to the parish village of Götting , it has come within 50 meters of its Mangfall receiving water; it is now no more than half a kilometer away on its meandering course.

Below he changes to the area of the city of Bad Aibling , passes its village Westerham in its north and then passes through the merged villages of Mitterham and Willing . Below, to the right of the Mangfall river, the wooded Willinger Aue begins , at the beginning of which the Goldbach has its first confluence with the Mangfall opposite the Aiblinger Kranzhornstrasse. An underflow, also known as the Flurbach , follows the southern edge of the Willinger Aue for a further 1.3 km and only flows down about 1.3 km from the right into the Mangfall , a few steps before the inlet of the Glonn from the other side and the Mangfall Bridge of the Rosenheimer Street.

Tributaries

The only major tributary is the 7.7 km long Feldbach , which tapers from the right and south-west near Willing , which together with its upper reaches Aufhammergraben and 9.2 km² catchment area provides almost as much drainage area as the 9.6 km² of the Goldbach upper course itself. Two other streams from the mountain heights to the right of the Mangfall valley before - the Thalhamergraben in Mittenkirchen and the Kropfbach between Linden and Ried - do not flow into the Goldbach, but cross it to the Mangfall.

History

The Goldbach used to be called Mühlbach . Even then, the neighboring businesses of Vagens were able to draw considerable benefits from the brook; He drove all five mills in Vagen and also looked after a blacksmith and hammer. Franz Anton Vogt, the lord of the court at the time and the owner of the castle in Vagen, took the springs in the middle of the 18th century and gave the Goldbach its current, straightened bed.

Others

The current section tenants of the stream put new fish into the water every year and also tend the surrounding area. A nature trail has been created at the Goldbach springs that provides information about the native birds.
