The golden berry ( Rubus xanthocarpus ) is a species of the genus Rubus .

description

The low-growing subshrub becomes about 15 to 30 cm high. The shoots and leaves are prickly. The small white flowers appear from May to June. From July onwards, the goldberry forms single orange-yellow collective drupes . The fruits are about 1.5 cm tall. The plant reproduces vegetatively via root runners.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 14.

distribution

The goldberry is native to China and grows wild in the provinces of Anhui , Gansu , Shaanxi , Sichuan and Yunnan .
