The gold strawberry ( Waldsteinia fragarioides ), also strawberry Waldsteinie called, is a species of the genus of Waldsteinien ( Waldsteinia ) in the subfamily of Rosoideae .

Vegetative characteristics
The golden strawberry is a perennial herbaceous plant that reaches heights of growth of 8 to 20 centimeters. It forms rhizomes and runners .
Generative characteristics
The flowering period extends from May to June. The hermaphrodite flowers are radially symmetrical and five-fold. The outer sepals are missing. There are five yellow petals . The fruit stalks are not hairy.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 42.
Occurrence
The golden strawberry occurs in eastern North America in moist to dry forests and on shady slopes.
