Gonçalo Galvão Teles

Gonçalo Laidley Melo Galvão Teles (* 1973 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese director, screenwriter and film producer.

Career

He was born in 1973 as the son of the director Luís Galvão Teles . After completing a law degree from the University of Lisbon , he went to the University of Southern California , where he studied screenwriting at the film faculty. On his return, his animated film A Suspeita won the European Cartoon d'Or film award in 2000 .

For his film Senhor X , with director Fernando Lopes, who died in 2012, in a film role, he received two awards at the Caminhos do Cinema Português film festival in Coimbra in 2010 , where he received the Don Quijote Prize in 2005 for O Outro Lado do Arco-Íris would have. He had also won a prize there for his short film Antes de Amanhã (2007), as well as at the Ovarvídeo film festival in Ovar 2008.

In 2007 he was involved in the script for his father's film Dot.com and in 2010 he wrote the script for the international production O Último Voo do Flamingo, based on the novel of the same name by Mia Couto , together with the Mozambican director João Ribeiro .
