Gondomil is a former community ( freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Valença in the Minho-Lima sub-region . 301 inhabitants live in it (as of June 30, 2011).

history

Traces from the Castro culture testify to a long human settlement. From the time of the Roman occupation come u. a. a bridge. The place name probably goes back to the time of the Visigoths .

As an independent community, Gondomil was first listed in the church registers from 1320 . It belonged to the Sanfins district, after its dissolution to belong to Monção and from 1852 to Valença.

As part of the municipal reorganization, the municipality was merged with Sanfins on September 29, 2013 to form União das Freguesias de Gondomil e Sanfins .
