Gone is an internationally co-produced US television series based on the novel One Kick (in Germany K - Kidnapped ) by the author Chelsea Cain . The series premiered on November 13, 2017 on the Australian version of Universal Channel. A German-language first broadcast has been on the VOX channel since January 24, 2018 .

In the United States , where the series was produced, it was first broadcast in early 2019 on WGN America , which acquired the rights to it in June 2018.

Production background

Gone is the first of three series resulting from a production partnership between the German RTL Group , the French broadcaster TF1 and NBCUniversal . This partnership was decided at the beginning of 2015, with all three series to be produced within two years. In fact, Gone was initially the first of the series after two years, and no other series have been produced or ordered in any form to date (as of December 2019). The series itself had originally been in development at NBC since 2013 , but did not receive a series order at the time. Originally intended for RTL Television in Germany , the program was postponed to sister station VOX .

Cast and dubbing

The German-language dubbing of the series is carried out by FFS Film- & Fernseh-Synchron under dialogue direction by Gerrit Schmidt-Foss , Marianne Groß and Katharina Gräfe.

reception

Gian-Philip Andreas from TVwunschliste.de is critical of the series after viewing the first two episodes. “Gone is not a complete disaster. If you want routine procedural replenishment, you will get it. In the meantime, there is not much going on here, neither Leven Rambin in the lead role, who does not really get the balance between toughness and vulnerability under control, nor the cases themselves, nor the possible starting points for cross-episode developments. Everything is spelled out too clearly. "

Torsten Zarges from dwdl.de has a split opinion. In one respect, he says, “The color scheme is a bit reminiscent of 'CSI: Miami', the rooms of 'Navy CIS' and the dynamism of the investigative team of several of the relevant successful ensembles. A refreshing independence comes into play with the character Kit Lanigan, who is allowed to keep her inner contradictions over the season and with her impulsive drive sets the pulse of the series. ", But he also feels," [...], that the potential of 'Gone' that keeps flashing up is nowhere near being used. Particularly annoying: Chris Noth doesn't make much more of his role than duty to rule. Apparently it is enough for him to provide the celebrity factor here, and the authors couldn't think of anything that could challenge him beyond that. And then there is the blue large-capacity airplane with high-tech computer equipment, in which Kit & Co. are constantly jetting from mission to mission. What is supposed to look cool as an alternative to the classic investigative office, instead symbolizes the lack of roots in a deliberately international series. "
