Goodie mob
Goodie Mob is a rap group from Atlanta , consisting of the artists Big Gipp , Khujo, T-Mo and Cee-Lo Green . She is part of the Dungeon Family . In the song Fighting Green explains the meaning of the group name: "'Goodie Mob' means, 'The Good Die Mostly Over Bullshit' / You take away one 'O' and it will let you know / 'God is Every Man of Blackness'" .
history
The first time was the quartet in 1994 as "The Goody Mob" on the OutKast - debut album to hear "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik". As a result, they released Soul Food a year later , the song Dirty South of which later became the name of an entire genre . Since the commercial success did not materialize after the second album Still Standing , the group decided on a more commercial, club-compatible sound with matching lyrics on their shortly thereafter album World Party , which both scared off their old fans and did not manage to get new ones win. Another consequence of this reorientation was that Cee-Lo Green left the group to embark on a solo career and later gain international popularity as one half of Gnarls Barkley .
In 2001 the members of Goodie Mob could be heard on some songs on the album Even in Darkness by the Dungeon Family, which includes OutKast and Organized Noize . The following year, Khujo was involved in a car accident that resulted in the amputation of his right leg. In 2004 the group released their last album to date, One Monkey Don't Stop No Show , but only in threes. Although the content was more related to the older albums, it was again a commercial failure. As a result, Big Gipp also left the group. T-Mo and Khujo continued to work as The Lumberjacks , which they founded before Goodie Mob, and in 2005 released the crunky Livin 'Life as Lumberjacks . Big Gipp, however, teamed up with Ali from the St. Lunatics rap posse of Nelly and released the Kinfolk album with him . T-Mo was also the last of the quartet to release a solo album.
The Goodie Mob members can be heard outside of the Dungeon Family on albums by other well-known artists such as P. Diddy , Nelly, The Outlawz , Lil Jon , the Ying Yang Twins and RZA .
Already since 2005 reports have been announced that Goodie Mob should have reunited and wanted to release a new album with four people. They officially announced this on October 1, 2006 after a Gnarls Barkley show.
