Goran "Gogo" Djuricin (born October 16, 1974 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian football player and current coach .

Career as a player

Djuricin began his football career at the age of 10 in the youth department of the Police Sports Association Vienna . Two years later he moved to SK Rapid Vienna . At the age of 16 he went back to his home club Polizei SV, where he became a member of the combat team.

After half a season at Police SV, he moved to FK Austria Vienna . In the 1992/93, 1993/94 and 1994/95 seasons, he made a total of 10 appearances in the Bundesliga and scored one goal. In 1995 Djuricin switched to SK Vorwärts Steyr . This was followed by engagements with the lower-class clubs FC Würnitz , SV St. Andrä-Wierter , FC Kapellerfeld and SV Donau Wien .

As a trainer

After finishing his football career, Goran Djuricin became a coach. After several coaching positions, he was in the service of the ÖFB from 2008 and was assistant coach of the Austrian U-19 national team from July 2009 . Then he trained the IC favorites , the SC Mannsdorf , SV Neuaigen and the ASK Ebreichsdorf , which he led into the regional league .

In November 2016 he became Damir Canadi's assistant trainer at SK Rapid Vienna . After Canadi was on leave in April 2017, Djuricin was initially head coach together with Martin Bernhard until the end of the season . For the 2017/18 season he finally became the sole head coach. At the end of April 2018, Rapid Wien extended Djuricin's expiring contract until the end of the 2018/2019 season.

Djuricin was given leave of absence in September 2018. Although he had qualified with Rapid for the round of 16 in the Cup and the Europa League, at the time of the leave of absence with nine points from nine games in the league they were in seventh place in the table, which would not qualify for the championship group.

In April 2019 he became coach of the second division club FC Blau-Weiß Linz , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2021. Djuricin was given leave of absence in December 2019. At that time, Blau-Weiß Linz was one point ahead of the relegation ranks after 16 match days.

In February 2020 he became the coach of the Swiss second division team Grasshopper Club Zurich . On May 15, 2020, the association announced in a media release that the engagement with Djuricin will not be continued.

Private

Djuricin is the father of Marco (* 1992), who is also a soccer player.
