Goran Jerković (born September 15, 1976 in Belgrade / Zemun district / Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian handball player . His body length is 2.04 m.
Jerković, who plays for the German second division club Eintracht Hildesheim (shirt number 15) and used to play for the Croatian men's national handball team, is mostly used in the left backcourt .
Goran Jerković made his debut for RK Brodomerkur Split in the Croatian first division and later moved to RK Metković Jambo. In the 2000/01 season he managed with this club to get past the serial champion RK Zagreb and become Croatian champion. He also won the EHF Cup in 2000 and reached the final of this competition again in 2001. In 2002 he decided to move abroad; Originally, he aimed to get involved in the German handball league, but eventually ended up in Portugal at Sporting Lisbon. There he was voted best player of 2002. In 2004 he moved to Grupo OMP in Spain for a year before returning to his homeland in 2005 and joining the RK Split. In January 2006 he finally had the opportunity to move to Germany, namely to VfL Pfullingen , which was threatened with relegation . In May 2006, however, Jerković was suspended again when he lost his temper during training and Petr Kust suddenly hit his fist in the face. After half a year without an employer, Jerković was signed by the southern second division ThSV Eisenach in early 2007 . With the Thuringians he helped to secure the league, and recommended himself for higher tasks. In the summer of 2007 he was committed by the northern second division club Eintracht Hildesheim . His contract expired in 2009.
Goran Jerković has played exactly 141 international matches for the Croatian men's national handball team. With his country he won the Mediterranean Games in 1997 in Bari and took part in the men's handball world championship in 1997 in Japan and in the 1998 European handball championship in Italy.
