The Gmina wiejska Gorlice is a rural municipality in the powiat Gorlicki in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship , Poland . The town of Gorlice is the administrative seat of the rural community, but does not belong to it as an independent township.

The rural community of Gorlice almost completely surrounds the town of Gorlice and is crossed by the Ropa River . The municipality extends over an area of ​​103.43 km², of which 62% are used for agriculture and 30% are forested.

history

Some of the individual places have a history dating back hundreds of years. The rural municipality of Gorlice was re-established on January 1, 1973. Her predecessor was called Glinik Mariampolski until 1954 and was based in Glinik, now a part of Gorlice. Until 1982 the school authorities Moszczenica and Staszkówka, which today form the municipality of Moszczenica , belonged to the municipality. On July 1, 1991, the Schulzenamt Ropa was separated from the community and has since formed the Ropa community .

From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship .

education

The municipality has one kindergarten ( przedszkole ), four elementary schools ( szkoła podstawowa ) and four middle schools ( gimnazjum ).
