Ice formations at the Gos waterfall

The main valley of the Gos begins in this forest area and initially moves northeast; the one flowing here, up to about 660  m above sea level. The river that is emerging from the NHN is initially called Impferlochbach. After less than a kilometer, the noticeably shorter Gos from the hamlet of Unterdrackenstein runs towards him from the right slope of the valley, which is built on a 20-meter-thick sintered lime terrace that it deposited here near the spring. The Gos flows from its source on the lower slope through the small town to the edge of the terrace and falls over the wall as a waterfall. New lime sinter is constantly forming. In cold winters it can happen that the Gos waterfall forms bizarre ice formations. A subterranean run through the hamlet called Mühlbach, branched off at the source, soon afterwards flows into the main stream, now known as Gos. At the eastern edge of the hamlet, there is another short right tributary to the Mühlrain spring.

After about half of its course, the Gos slowly turns northwards from a side valley connection shortly before the inflow of two further slope spring inlets with a length of over half a kilometer. On its way through the Gosbach valley, it is not only fed by such hillside spring tributaries from the Albtrauf but also from springs in its floodplain. It flows into the Gosbach part of Bad Ditzenbach at about 520  m above sea level. NHN from the right just before the river bridge in the upper Fils.
