Gottfried Drechsel

Gottfried Drechsel (born January 20, 1928 in Drebach , Erzgebirge ; † January 5, 2009 ) was a German politician ( SED ) and a functionary of the Association of Mutual Farmers Aid (VdgB). He was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Drechsel, son of a farming family, attended elementary school and completed an agricultural apprenticeship from 1942 to 1945. From 1945 to 1954 he was an agricultural assistant and then an independent farmer. In 1948 he joined the VdgB and the SED. From 1954 he was a member, from 1955 to 1958 field cultivation brigadier and finally from 1958 to 1963 chairman of the LPG Drebach.

From 1963 to 1967 Drechsel was chairman of the Zschopau district agriculture council and from 1967 chairman of the cooperation council "Am Greifenstein" and again chairman of the LPG Drebach. In 1972 he passed his state examination as an agricultural engineering economist and in 1983 with a degree in agricultural engineering.

From 1958 Drechsel was a member of the SED district leadership and a member of the Zschopau district council . From 1982 he was chairman of the district board of the VdgB Karl-Marx-Stadt and from 1984 was a member of the central board and the presidium of the central board of the VdgB.

Drechsel was a member of the People's Chamber for the VdgB from 1986 to 1990. He died in 2009 at the age of 80 and was buried in the Drebach cemetery.
