Wolfgang Gottfried Leopold Graf von Auersperg (born December 19, 1818 in Judenburg , † April 17, 1893 in Baden near Vienna ) was an Austro-Hungarian military officer in the kk Landwehr .

Life

Wolfgang Gottfried Leopold Graf von Auersperg came from the ancient noble family Auersperg and was a graduate of the cadet school in Graz . After graduation, he joined the Imperial and Royal Army in 1833 and, after the March Revolution of 1848 , took part with distinction in the First Italian War of Independence from 1848 to 1849 , the German-Danish War in 1864 , the Third Italian War of Independence in 1866 and the German War in 1866 .

On March 11, 1867, Count von Auersperg was promoted to major general and was in command of the army rifle school he founded in Bruck an der Leitha . On April 23, 1873 he was promoted to Lieutenant Field Marshal before he retired on October 1, 1879 after being awarded the honorary rank and character as Feldzeugmeister . He was also the Councilor appointed and acted as further Erbkämmerer and hereditary marshal of Krain .

Wolfgang Gottfried Leopold Graf von Auersperg was married to Marianne, born Freiin von Neuwall. The children Augusta Franziska, Leopold Wolfgang Albert and Anton Alexander came from this marriage .
