Gottfried Carl Paul Ludwig Eitel von und zu Gilsa (born October 25, 1879 in Detmold , † February 11, 1959 in Oberhof Gilsa ) was a German administrative officer and manor owner.

Life

Gottfried von und zu Gilsa studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . In 1898 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Göttingen . After graduation, he completed his legal clerkship and passed the second state examination in 1907. He became a government assessor and unskilled worker in the Prussian Ministry of the Interior . In 1913 he became the district administrator of the district Demmin appointed.

In 1914, during the First World War , Gilsa was first leader of the 3rd Cavalry Battery of the Guard Cavalry Division and commander of the town of Pinsk . Later he was appointed as captain of the reserve at the 1st Guards Field Artillery Regiment used.

In 1916 he returned from the field and took over the office of district administrator in Demmin, which Ernst von Heyden had taken over as a substitute during his war deployment . He held the office of district administrator until he fled Pomerania in 1945.

After the Second World War , Gilsa lived on the 300-hectare Oberhof Gilsa family estate, of which he was a co-owner. District Administrator Adolf von und zu Gilsa was his brother.
