Gotthard German

Gotthard Deutsch ( January 31, 1859 in Kanitz , Austrian Empire - October 14, 1921 in Cincinnati ) was an Austrian rabbi and historian .

Life

After finishing school in Nikolsburg , he went to Breslau , where, in addition to studying at university, he also attended the Jewish Theological Seminary . He continued his studies in Vienna. He got his first job as a religion teacher in Brno and was then employed in Brüx . When he received a call from the Hebrew Union College ( Rabbinical Seminary ) in Cincinnati ( USA ), he accepted the professorship there in 1891 for Jewish philosophy.

Gotthard Deutsch has authored numerous books and hundreds of newspaper articles. He died in Cincinnati in 1921.
