Gottlieb Bion (born June 2, 1804 in Bürglen ; † April 11, 1876 in St. Gallen ) was a Swiss landscape painter and teacher.

Born as the son of pastor Peter Bion, he attended high school in St. Gallen and was trained as a teacher at Philipp Emanuel von Fellenberg's educational institution in Hofwil from 1822 to 1825 . He then studied history painting from December 19, 1825 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich .

After completing his studies, he worked in St. Gallen from 1827 to 1872 as a landscape and miniature painter as well as a writing, drawing and gymnastics teacher. In 1827 he became a co-founder of the St. Gallen Art Association and its president from 1848 to 1874. From 1855 to 1857 he held the position of President of the Swiss Art Association .

In 1831 he married Louise Katharina Hirzel.
