The New York gubernatorial elections of 1789 took place in April 1789, where the governor and lieutenant governor of New York were elected.

Candidates

George Clinton ran as an anti-federalist for re-election for governor of New York. His opponent was Robert Yates of the Federalist Party . Both ran with Pierre Van Cortlandt as vice governor candidate.
