New York gubernatorial election 1842
The gubernatorial election in New York of 1842 was held on November 8, 1842, there were the Governor and the Deputy Governor of the State of New York selected. It was the first election held in a single day. Before that, the elections were held on three days, starting with the first Monday in November. The New York Legislature then permanently fixed election day in 1841 to the Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

William C. Bouck competed with Daniel S. Dickinson as running mate for the Democratic Party , Luther Bradish with Gabriel Furman for the Whig Party and Alvan Stewart with Charles O. Shepard for the Liberty Party .
