New York gubernatorial election 1830
The New York gubernatorial election of 1830 took place between November 1st and 3rd, 1830, and the governor and lieutenant governor of New York were elected.
Candidates
Martin Van Buren , who was elected governor in 1828, was appointed US Secretary of State by US President Andrew Jackson . Enos T. Throop succeeded him as lieutenant governor and ran for a full term in the 1830 elections. Edward Philip Livingston was his running mate . Francis Granger competed with Samuel Stevens , who, however, competed for the Anti-Masonic Party . Ezekiel Williams performed alone for his party.
