New York gubernatorial election 1826
The New York gubernatorial election of 1826 took place between November 6th and 8th, 1826, and the governor and lieutenant governor of New York were elected.
Candidates
DeWitt Clinton ran for re-election as governor with Henry Huntington as running mate for the Clintonian faction of the Democratic Republican Party . William B. Rochester stood with Nathaniel Pitcher for the Bucktails faction of the same party.
Result
While DeWitt Clinton was re-elected to governor of New York, it was not his running mate, Henry Huntington, who was elected lieutenant governor of New York, but Nathaniel Pitcher.
