The New York gubernatorial election of 1811 was a by-election for the vacancy of lieutenant governor of New York .

Lieutenant Governor John Broome died in August 1810, and the New York Constitution of 1777 requires new elections if there is a vacancy in either governor or lieutenant governor's office.
