Grão-Pará , also Grão Pará , officially Portuguese Município de Grão-Pará , is a municipality in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina of the Região Sul . The population was estimated on July 1, 2019 at 6569 inhabitants, who live on a municipality area of around 334.4 km² and are called Grão-Paraenser ( grão-paraenses ). The distance to the capital Florianópolis is 189 km. The calculated population density is 18.4 people per km². It ranks 168th out of 295 municipalities in the state.
Agriculture and pig breeding make up a large proportion of the city's gross national product.

Surrounding communities are Urubici , Rio Fortuna , Braço do Norte and Orleans .
Part of the Parque Estadual da Serra Furada nature reserve, created in 1980, is located in the municipality , in which an impressive mountain landscape with rugged valleys and steep slopes and the associated piece of rainforest of the Mata Atlântica are protected.
It also holds shares in the São Joaquim National Park .
