Grégory Lemarchal
Grégory Lemarchal (born May 13, 1983 in La Tronche , Isère , † April 30, 2007 in Suresnes ) was a French pop singer . He became known as the winner of the Star Academy 4 , the most famous talent show in France.
Life
Grégory Lemarchal spent his childhood near Chambéry (Savoie). When he was 20 months old, it turned out that Grégory had a metabolic disease called cystic fibrosis . At the age of twelve he won the master's title in rock acrobatics. In the summer of 2004, he signed up for the Star Academy casting show (season 4) and was the first male participant to win. Lemarchal died of his illness on April 30, 2007 and was buried in the small cemetery of Sonnaz near Chambéry.

His first album Je deviens moi was released in April 2005. The title song of the same name, which was not released as a single, is a cover version of the song Liebe ist alles von Rosenstolz . This album debuted at number 1 on the French charts and soon sold more than 300,000 copies. His first single Écris l'histoire went platinum after a short time.
From May 9th to June 24th 2006 he went on a tour in France, Belgium and Switzerland; she was interrupted by an appendix operation. His third single, Même si , is a duet with the New Zealand singer Lucie Silvas . In November 2006 his live album Olympia 06 followed , which sold 125,000 times; Grégory Lemarchal named it after the Olympia event hall in Paris, where he had given four sold-out concerts.
He recorded his last song shortly before his death. However, the video shoot did not take place. Nevertheless, the song De temps en temps was released. The video for this consists of excerpts from his career. On June 23, 2007, the album La voix d'un ange was released . It grew to be its most commercially successful. With 600,000 copies sold, it was one of the best-selling albums in 2007. Half of the proceeds go to the foundation established by his parents, which supports the fight against cystic fibrosis.
