After the Thirumangalam station , the course changes to the south. The Green Line now becomes an elevated railway and crosses the Cooum River. After passing the district of Koyambedu , it makes a swerve to the east and meets the inner ring road , the course of which it now follows in a southerly direction. It crosses the districts of Vadapalani and Ashok Nagar . After crossing the Adyar River, it continues on the Inner Ring Road. At Alandur station it crosses the blue line. From there it leads to the terminus St. Thomas Mount .
