The Green Gate in Dresden was built in 1693 by order of Johann Georg III. Erected as a memorial to the Turkish wars based on a design by Wolf Caspar von Klengel . The portal of the Dresden Residenzschloss is the only verifiable sculptural work by Markus Conrad Dietzes to date .

It is located under the Hausmannsturm on the Elbe side of the castle. The gate has a round arch with a large keystone showing the spa coat of arms in a cartouche . The round arch is flanked by two widely spaced double pilasters . A half-column of the Tuscan order is presented to them . The four pilasters with a half-column in front support an architrave . On this there is a cornice with an attic as a parapet for the balcony above. A door flanked by trophy decorations on either side leads to this balcony . The balcony door shows richly decorated jewelry on both sides with hangers as door frames. Above the door there is a segmented gable as a door canopy , decorated with a Saxon coat of arms and two putti .
