history

First mentioned in a document in 1286 as Bucholt, the village with Zielenzig came to the Knights Templar and after its dissolution in 1350 to the Order of St. John . Around 1461 the village belonged to the von Winning family . In 1491 Hartz von Winning zu Walewitz was enfeoffed with the village of Buchholz by the master master Georg von Schlaberndorff. It remained in the family's possession until 1785. Then Hans von Schönebeck acquired the estate and with him the owners changed: in 1809 Hauptmann von Rittberg, in 1812 the Geheime Rath Pastorf, 1833 Kasser, 1842 Otto von der Hagen. In 1913 the village had 227 inhabitants, 210 inhabitants according to the 1970 census and 187 inhabitants in 1978.
