Graham Jefcoate

Graham Jefcoate (* 1951 ) is a British librarian .

Life

Graham Jefcoate studied English literature at Cambridge University from 1970 to 1973 and library science at University College London in 1974/75 . From 1981 to 1988 he worked under Bernhard Fabian at the University of Münster for the Catalog of English Books Printed Before 1801 Held by the University at Göttingen . From 1988 he worked at the British Library in London, from 1997 as head of the Early Printed Collections department.

From March 1, 2002 until his early resignation on March 30, 2003 because of “different views on both sides on the future direction of the State Library” , he was Director General of the State Library in Berlin . The library has no annual reports for this period.

From 2005 until his retirement in 2011 he was director of the Nijmegen University Library .

Until 2011, Jefcoate was Chairman of the Steering Committee for Heritage Collections and Preservation of the Ligue des Bibliothèques Européennes de Recherche .
