Ekkehart Vespers

Ekkehart Vesper (born February 26, 1924 in Leipzig , † October 24, 2005 in Flensburg ) was a German librarian .

Life

After graduating as Dr. phil. at the University of Leipzig on August 15, 1950 and the library clerkship at the Deutsche Bücherei (1949–1951) he worked until 1958 at the University Library Leipzig , at the Saarland University and State Library (1958–1965) and TIB Hannover (1965–1972 ). From 1972 to 1987 he was Director General of the Berlin State Library . The new building on Potsdamer Strasse fell during his term of office .
