Graziano Mandozzi

Graziano Mandozzi (born June 23, 1939 in Osogna , Switzerland ) is a Swiss composer , conductor and musicologist .

Life

Graziano Mandozzi comes from a family of musicians in Ticino . He attended a teacher training college in Locarno and studied from 1960 to 1963 at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Gerhard Wimberger and Cesar Bresgen , where he was awarded the Lilli Lehmann Medal . After successfully passing his Kapellmeister exam, he began to work in the theater. Since he was one of the last pupils of Bernhard Paumgartner , he was allowed to make one of the first recordings of the Camerata Academica . He later worked in film, radio plays and ballet. In the mid-1970s he wrote the music for the ballet "Jesus GmbH" performed by Johann Kresnik . As a musicologist he worked for years to review and reassess the works of Ruggero Leoncavallo and Nino Rota .
