Greg Ruggiero

Greg Ruggiero (born April 11, 1977 ) is an American jazz musician ( guitar , also composition ) of modern jazz .

Live and act

Ruggiero, who has lived in New York City since 2004 and plays in the tradition of jazz guitar by jazz greats from the 1950s to 1970s, released his debut album Balance ( Fresh Sound New Talent ) in 2006 , on which Rob Wilkerson , Frank LoCrasto (piano) , Matt Brewer (bass) and Tommy Crane (drums) performed. In addition to original compositions, he also interprets material from the Great American Songbook and Swing . In the 2010s he worked a. a. regularly in the Michael Kanan Trio ( Live at Mezzroe (2017), with Neil Miner ) and with his own trio with Steve Little on drums and Murray Wall on bass. He has also performed with Warren Vaché , Bill Crow , Frank Morgan , Greg Osby , Mark Turner , Logan Richardson , Jane Monheit and Luisa Sobral .

Ruggiero currently (2019) plays as an accompanying musician in the Ben Zweig Trio and in the Lucine Yeghiazaryan Sextet. In the field of jazz he was involved in eight recording sessions between 2006 and 2019, including a. with Chris Tordini , also with Logan Richardson ( Ethos ). Ruggiero lives in Brooklyn.
