Greta Laurent (born May 3, 1992 in Ivrea ) is an Italian cross-country skier .

Career

Laurent competed in junior races until 2012. She ran her first World Cup race in December 2011 in Düsseldorf , which she finished in 54th place in the sprint. She won her first World Cup points in Davos in February 2013 with 27th place in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , she reached 31st place in the sprint. At the Italian championships in 2013, she won silver in the sprint. She achieved her best individual World Cup result so far in December 2013 with 11th place in the sprint stage of the Tour de Ski 2013/14 in Lenzerheide . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she finished 26th in the sprint. At the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun , she achieved 37th place in the sprint. In the 2015/16 season she made it into the points six times in seven World Cup appearances. Her best placement was 18th place in the sprint in Planica . In January 2016 she achieved her first podium finish in the Alpencup with third place in the sprint in Planica . The following year she came back on the podium with second place in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 2017 , she came 29th in the sprint. The following year she ran at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang to 32nd place in the sprint.

In the 2018/19 season Laurent made ten points in the World Cup and reached 54th place at the World Cup final in Québec . She finished 53rd in the overall World Cup and 24th in the Sprint World Cup. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , she ran to 22nd place in the sprint and 11th place together with Lucia Scardoni in the team sprint.
