Grigori Yakovlevich Bach Chi wall skiing ( Russian Григорий Яковлевич Бахчиванджи * February 7 . Jul / 20th February  1909 greg. In Staniza Brinkowskaja , Krasnodar region , † 27. March 1943 in Sverdlovsk ) was a Soviet test pilot .

Life

In 1925 he started working in a foundry. After completing his training as a locksmith , Bakhchiwandchi joined the army in 1931. In 1932 he became a member of the CPSU . In 1933 he was trained as a pilot. In 1934 he received further training at the Orenburg Aviation School and was able to become a test pilot in the Soviet Army.

After the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War , Bakhtschiwandschi was initially used as a fighter pilot in air defense , where he was awarded five group kills in 65 combat flights. In August 1941 he was used again as a test pilot. On May 15, 1942 he began testing the Bolkhovitinov BI-1 rocket aircraft . He had a fatal accident during a test flight.

He received the Order of Lenin twice for his achievements . On April 28, 1973 he was posthumously awarded the Order of Hero of the Soviet Union . A settlement and an associated stopping point on the Mytishchi  - Frjasewo railway line , not far from the Central Museum of the Air Force of the Russian Federation near Monino near Moscow, are named after Bakhchivsky . Bakhchivsky monuments were erected in his hometown and at Yekaterinburg airport , not far from where he crashed. A number of streets in places in Russia and Ukraine are named after him.
