The Große Lonau is the left source river of the Lonau in Lower Saxony .

It rises at an altitude of 730 m near the Hanskühnenburg on the Auf dem Acker ridge . After that it mostly flows in a south-southwest direction to Lonau , where it merges with the Little Lonau to form Lonau. The Große Lonau is 6 km long and 1.8 km longer than the Kleine Lonau.
