Routes
The marked and not a difficult normal route of the Great Donnerkogel leads from the southwestern Törlecksattel by latsch passed west flank of the Little Donnerkogel into the southern flank of the Great and from there north to the summit. There are no known first climbers.
Since 2002, the Intersport via ferrata has also led from the Gablonzer Hütte to the summit in three hours (difficulty C / D ). The construction of the via ferrata was controversial, as the route was laid out via a climbing guide opened by Paul Preuss . As the via ferrata leads through a private hunting area, it is only allowed to get out in emergencies.
Further climbs lead through the south-east and north-facing walls.
