history

The first documented and documented mention of Großviehberg comes from the year 1326.

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the place became part of the independent rural community of Hohenstadt with the second municipal edict , to which the hamlet of Kleinviehberg also belonged. In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Großviehberg was transferred to the city of Hersbruck in 1972. In 2017 Großviehberg had 70 inhabitants.
